Admission Documents

  1. Application for Admission: Download, sign, and re-upload it to the application wizard.
  2. Curriculum Vitae: Provide a detailed, up-to-date CV in English.
  3. Preliminary Documentation (VPD): If your qualification for postgraduate studies (usually a bachelor’s degree) was obtained outside the EU/EEA or Switzerland, you need VPD before applying to TUM.
  4. Short Self-Written Essay: A 500–700-word essay on a scientific topic in the field of Earth oriented space science and technology, written in English. You can choose the topic, but all sources must be referenced.
  5. Statement of Purpose (Motivation Letter): Write about your reasons for pursuing graduate work in ESPACE at TUM, in English. Limit this to one page.
  6. Transcript of Records: Provide your semester mark sheets, listing subjects and grades. If your bachelor’s degree is incomplete, submit a preliminary transcript with at least 140 ECTS. Original transcripts with a university seal or certified copies are required.
  7. English Proficiency Certificate: Non-native English speakers need an official, recognized English certificate (refer to language requirements).
  8. APS Certificate for Chinese Applicants: Submit a valid APS certificate. A special process initiated by APS and TUM is available. Register at APS before January 1st of the application year.
  9. GRE General Test: Recommended but not mandatory.
  10. For Indian Applicants (Optional): It is advised to submit recent GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) results for papers in:
    • Engineering (XE, CS, EC, EE, IN, IT, ME, MN, AE).
    • Mathematics and natural sciences (codes GG, MA, PH).
