Admission Documents
- Completed Digital Application Form: Ensure the form is fully filled out.
2. Curriculum Vitae: Submit a CV, limited to 2 pages.
3. Bachelor’s Degree Copy: Include a copy of your bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS or equivalent) from relevant fields like environmental studies, literature, cultural studies, history, sociology, anthropology, geography, political sciences, media studies, geology, biology, etc. Provisional acceptance is possible for students who haven’t completed their undergraduate studies, but they must have at least 150 ECTS points (or equivalent).
4. Transcript of Records: Show a minimum grade of 2.5 on the German scale (or equivalent). If your degree isn’t completed, the transcript should reflect at least 150 ECTS points.
5. Proof of English Proficiency: Refer to the language requirements. Note that test results typically expire after two years. Native English speakers or those who completed a degree in English in an English-speaking country can submit a statement for exemption.
6. Proof of German Proficiency: Required at the time of application or within a year of admission. If you don’t have a C1 certificate, submit your current level and a statement about achieving C1 within a year.
7. Argumentative Essay in English (2000 words max): Write an essay on one of two topics, demonstrating a connection to your personal interests or career goals and the relevance of an interdisciplinary approach. The essay should be well-researched with at least eight secondary academic sources.
8. Writing Sample: Provide a sample in English or German (max. 2000 words) showing research ability in an environmentally relevant topic, which may be from your previous studies.
