What will students learn in the Business Foundations Program?


The Business Foundations Diploma Program gives students a thorough understanding of key business principles and processes. Students will improve their critical thinking skills, expand their knowledge of corporate contexts, and master effective communication tactics both in person and via electronic media. The program also highlights the significance of understanding customer behavior, strategic marketing, and the problems of globalization. Students will also learn about financial accounting and employee relationship management, which will provide them with the tools they need to succeed in the fast-paced corporate environment.




Courses for Business Foundations Diploma


Course 1: Business Essentials (BFBE) (120 Hours)


This course is meant to educate students to the modern business sector in Canada and around the world, from the perspectives of an employee, employer, consumer, and investor. The course will cover business issues such as business environments, entrepreneurship, organizing and managing your firm, accounting principles, and risk management. We intend to help students improve their analytical skills, expand their business knowledge, and practice their presentation skills.



Course 2: Organizational Behaviour


This course is intended for students who have no prior business experience but want to have a general understanding of business and are pursuing a business program of study. This course looks at organizational theory and application. It conducts a thorough examination of individual, group, and organizational performance in respect to current business structures.



Course 3 – Marketing

In this course, students will have a better understanding of fundamental marketing principles, methods, and practices. The course will cover the strategic marketing planning methods. You’ll put those procedures to use by developing a marketing strategy based on the external environment, market research, and consumer and company purchasing behavior. Your strategic execution will include the 4Ps and a variety of marketing messages. We will help students comprehend the strategic marketing process, apply new technology, and improve their presentation skills.



Course 4: Business Communications


This course will teach students the fundamentals of business communications by discussing and reviewing the importance of effective communication skills, teamwork, listening, nonverbal communication skills, and intercultural communication in the global environment. Students will use the three-step writing process to organize, write, and complete business messages for electronic media and online social media platforms (e.g., email, Twitter, blogs).

The Business Foundations Program provides a solid basis for a variety of professional choices in the business world, customized to the broad skills and knowledge gained via its extensive curriculum. Graduates are well-prepared for careers that involve analytical thinking, strategic planning, excellent communication skills, and an awareness of global business trends.

– Positions include Communication Coordinator, Sales Representative, Customer Service Associate, and Administrative Assistant.


The average annual compensation for a Sales Representative is $57,600.

Admission requirements


When contemplating participation in the Business Foundations Diploma Program, prospective students should be informed of the precise admission requirements that will ensure a successful and fulfilling educational experience.

This program has been approved by the PTIB.



Language requirements


There are two ways to fulfill the English requirement:

1. Do both of the following:

A) English 10, 11, or 12 or equivalent with a minimum of ‘C’ grade for reading and writing proficiency.

B) Two years of full-time English schooling in an English-speaking nation. For competence in speaking and listening

OR

2. To demonstrate competency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening, complete one of the following courses or examinations at appropriate levels:

  • Duolingo English Test: 95
  • TOEIC: 700
  • TOEFL (Paper-based): 537
  • TOEFL (iBT): 75
  • Cambridge English (FCE): Passed First Certificate in English

  • SELC English Language Test: Achieved Upper Intermediate Level
